Angie, Have you talked to your son's teachers and special ed coordinator? It sounds like he needs a very specialized IEP in regards to these specific issues.-Susie

my son jake is 10 diagnosed with;aspergers,sensory processing visual tactil and auditory,add, hypermobile head to toe ,general anxiety disorder and synthesia (excuse the spelling)he is v high functioning and quite bright but his inability to read threatens to stop any further progress and more importantly causing him great distress we have tried so many things phonix, pat, shape colour song etc any suggestions i know he is unusual been told often enough but to me just jake a kind clever little boy who is v sad

Another amazing program that helped my child is "Read Naturally". My child's language exploded the year he used this program at school with the help of a volunteer. A home version called "One Minute Reader" is also available. This is a great article and was very useful for me. I really wished the Temple Grandin link was still working.

thank-you so much i have read many issues on autistic children but found your writing to be of most value my grandson has been didgnosed with learning problems and is not even talking yet at 2and a half he may have autismn just waiting for him to go through all the tests from reading this i now know how to interact better with jaccob
