Why should you spend time with your kids in the kitchen? Well, of course, the result of an afternoon of cooking means that you and your family get to eat some yummy treats, and that might be inspiration enough. However, there are many other reasons you should try out Thanksgiving cooking activities for kids.

  • Quality Time-Spend quality time with your kids by sharing a morning, afternoon, or evening in the kitchen. Don’t worry if your recipes don’t come out of the oven looking and smelling perfect. The best part of the experience should be the time you spend together, commemorating the holiday and creating more Thanksgiving memories.
  • New Skills-Did you know your kids can learn a lot from cooking? That’s right. Before you head to the kitchen, be sure you find recipes that are age appropriate for your child. A recipe that is too difficult will only frustrate her and you, and the joyful occasion you could be sharing could end up in tears. Take a look at the ingredients, necessary utensils, and skills needed (such as using a mixer, etc.) before you let your kids attempt a recipe. This is a great I idea....I think you shold add some more cooking activities like turkey shaped sugar cookies. This website was a great help fpr my lesson plans and I will be sure to use it again soon. Thank You
