Kids printable puzzles are a great way to engage your kids in learning. There are numerous printable puzzles available on the Internet, and many of these are free!
Why Use Puzzles?
Kids love puzzles….even babies and toddlers. As your kids grow, however, you may find that the puzzles you buy need to be more challenging. Why should you encourage your kids to solve puzzles? Easy puzzles for small children can teach recognition and reasoning skills. The success a small child feels as she masters a puzzle is evident on her face.
As kids grow, however, puzzles can take on a whole new range of meaning. Depending upon the type of puzzle you choose, puzzles can enhance reading comprehension, spelling, grammar, and math skills. Puzzles can be used to reemphasize information that has already been taught as well.

- PrintActivities.com has a great selection of kids printable puzzles and other types of worksheets for preschoolers to older kids. You can find plenty of kindergarten and grade school worksheets, [[Free Coloring Pages for Kids|coloring sheets], math worksheets, kid puzzles and mazes, and many more activities that offer plenty of educational practice and instruction.
- ABC Teach features over 5,000 free printable pages. The site is very user-friendly with links to specific topics such as language and ESL activities, themed units, teaching extras, and subject specific puzzles and worksheets. There are word searches, word puzzles, Sudoku puzzles, crossword puzzles, and many other puzzle selections.
- DLTK's site offers printable jigsaw puzzles. Laminate the puzzle, and cut out the pieces. Another great idea is to apply magnetic tape to the back of each puzzle piece, and place the puzzle on the fridge for little hands to do.
- Squigly's Playhouse lets you print out the puzzle in PDF format. There are all sorts of categories, including seasonal puzzles and special day puzzles (Father's Day, Mother's Day, Thanksgiving, etc.).
