Places to Find Free Behavior Charts to Print

There are many places online where you can find free behavior charts to print. Here are a few:

  • Free Printable Behavior Charts – This site is one of the largest online resources for free behavior charts. Charts are broken down into categories by age and interest (such as NFL charts for those who have an interest in sports). You'll also find related items at this site, such as charts for chores, potty training, homework, reading, pet care chores, holidays and even tooth care. In addition, you'll find many ideas for how to reward good behavior.
  • My Reward Board – While not technically free, this site is worth mentioning. They do offer a free trial, so you can try it for free and see if it is a program that might work for your family. For $19.95 you can purchase the program to use with all your children on up to three different computers. The great thing about this program is that it is modern and perfect for those who enjoy today's technology. The modern child tends to love electronic gadgets, so this program combines a computer program with a reward system/chart. You can also print the charts out and create custom reward coupons and point systems. The site allows you to create and print chore charts, an allowance and banking program and other goodies. My Reward Board is well worth the minor investment.
  • Chart Jungle – Offers many different types of charts, including a good selection of free behavior charts. For example, you'll find everything from the charts, to apology note forms, to reward bucks. Features charts for a variety of approaches such as strikes, rewards for good behavior and even specific behavior charts, such as the "Stop Whining" chart, the "Stay in Your Seat" chart and the "Don't Fight! Take Turns!" chart.
  • HandiPoints.com – Interesting site that allows parents to create checklists, which their children then check off as they complete tasks. This can be used to create behavior and chore charts, for example. The parent then goes in and sees what tasks have been completed and can award a grade based on how well the task was finished or attitude or any other number of factors. Just let your child know beforehand how you'll be grading. Site offers a free account with limited features or paid accounts with more features that include rewards you can issue your children, such as club play time.

Make Your Own Charts

If you are creative, you may want to make your own behavior charts based upon the traits you'd like to see your child(ren) work on. Charts can easily be created with tools such as Microsoft Publisher or in programs such as Word with the table wizard tool. One advantage of creating your own chart is that you can change items as the child no longer needs to work on a particular behavior and swap that behavior out for a new item.

Alternately, you can simply make up a blank table with a set number of boxes and hand write what items you'd like to go inside the boxes. Inexpensive foil labels or small stickers complete the package.
