Disney Princess Bedding
From LoveToKnow Kids
Many young girls dream of being princesses, and Disney Princess bedding is currently all the rage. Whether you prefer to shop online or in person, kids' bedding featuring the Disney favorites is easy to find.
About the Princesses
The lineup of Disney Princesses has grown since you were a child. Your choices are no longer limited to Cinderella and Snow White. Today's girls can decorate their rooms with the following princesses:
- Belle from Beauty and the Beast
- Aurora from Sleeping Beauty
- Pocahontas
- Cinderella
- Snow White
- Mulan
- Jasmine from Aladdin
- Ariel from The Little Mermaid
Sizes Available
Kids who have opted for "big girl" beds early might be out of luck when it comes to Disney Princess bedding. While the Disney beauties are readily available in toddler and twin sizes, it is much more difficult to find them in full-size or larger. For larger sized beds, your best option may be to have the bedding custom made. Most fabric stores stock Disney material.
Comforters
Comforters seem to be the most popular type of kids' bedding, and they are the easiest to find. Department stores like Wal-Mart, Target, K-Mart, Sears, and JC Penney all carry Disney Princess comforters. Bedding stores, such as Bed, Bath and Beyond and Linens 'N' Things, frequently carry the popular designs as well. Although the styles and patterns vary from season to season, most of the Disney Princess comforters feature:
- Pink, purple, or both
- Lace
- Flower and heart accents
- Crowns and castles
- Pictures of one or many princesses
Quilts
Disney Princess quilts are a great choice when a comforter is just too thick. Made in the traditional patchwork style, Disney quilts evoke a bit of nostalgia. At the same time, their princess designs will appeal to even the most modern young ladies. Disney quilts are available at:
Disney Princess Bedding Accessories
Once your daughter's bed is beautifully outfitted in princess bedding, you will probably want to buy some matching accessories. Some favorites include:
- Princess Bed Canopy. This four-post bed canopy fits standard twin-sized beds. It is pink and purple and accented with hearts and flowers. Pictures of Cinderella, Aurora, Belle, and Snow White decorate the posts. The canopy is available at Toys 'R' Us and Babies 'R' Us.
- Princess Sleeping Bags. These bags are perfect for sleepover guests or indoor camping. One design features a collage of the major Disney Princesses, and individual princess bags are available, as well. Bags are sold at Wal-Mart, K-Mart, Target, and TRU.
- Princess Bed Headboard. This soft, pillow-like headboard is shaped like a crown and features Snow White, Cinderella, and Belle. It is made to fit a twin-sized bed. The headboard is sold at Toys 'R' Us and Babies 'R' Us.
- Princess Cushions and Pillows. These soft and cuddly pillows are the perfect-- and practical-- addition to a princess-themed room.
Buying Disney Princess Bedding Online
When buying Disney Princess bedding online, make sure that the merchandise is authentic Disney. Look for the Disney logo. Also make sure that the princesses on the bedding are actually the Disney Princesses. At many auction sites, sellers will use the Disney name in a title simply to attract buyers. Read the fine print and ask questions to clarify that the item being sold is what you are looking for.
