Children's Allergies and Blue Bear Aware
From LoveToKnow Kids
BLUE BEAR AWARE™ is an allergy aware clothing line for toddlers and children with allergies. All the products feature an Allergy Alert Symbol™ written in both English and French. On t-shirts, this symbol is located on the front chest or back right shoulder for maximum visibility. It is also available as a sew-on or iron-on badge for backpacks, diaper bags, medical kits and outerwear. The Allergy Alert Symbol™ is also incorporated into punchy t-shirt graphics that keep up with the trends—race cars, pirates and fairies, to name a few. T-shirt graphics also bear allergy warnings against the most common life-threatening allergens—peanuts, tree nuts and dairy. Slogans such as aliens saying “We steer clear of the milky way!" adds a humorous touch to a serious concern.
What Is the Intent of This Clothing Line?
The intent of the this clothing line is three-fold; first and foremost, to provide children with allergies fun and fashionable clothing, secondly, increase public awareness and recognition of children’s allergies, and lastly to provide parents with greater peace of mind when their child is out in public situations, eg. birthday parties, daycare, preschool and so forth.
Why Blue Bear Aware?
Blue Bear Aware was started by sisters, Elizabeth and Roberta. Elizabeth has a son with chronic dietary needs, and Roberta has lived with allergies all her life. Both Elizabeth and Roberta saw a need for greater public awareness of children's health issues, and in particular allergies. How many times when out in public situations do you hear that old adage that 'just one cookie won't hurt'? It is absolutely false, and it is paramount that people comply when your child has special dietary needs.
At present Blue Bear Aware is sold exclusively on line at Blue Bear Aware.
Comments
I checked out bluebearaware with my son (who has peanut allergies) and he loves the Pirate ship! It's really cool. This company has some great children's tees. I'm a happy mom :)
