Barbie Games A Product of the Barbie Craze

Barbie games, toys, and accessories are all a result of the popularity of the Barbie doll, which was introduced to the world in 1959. The Barbie doll first appeared in public at the American International Toy Fair. The doll was a product of Mattel, Inc., and she was named after the founder of the company's daughter. The Ken doll, which came later, was named after the founder's son.

What Type of Girl Likes Barbie?

Barbie

There is really no way to specifically say what type of girls like Barbie dolls, because the truth is… most own at least one. Mattel reports that more than one billion Barbie dolls (including Ken dolls and Skipper dolls) have been sold across the world to date. In fact, sales are still so strong that the company currently sells an average of a million and a half Barbie dolls every week of the year in stores across the world.

Accessories, Houses, Cars and Games

With such a huge success with the Barbie doll, Mattel has been able to successfully branch out and sell all sorts of Barbie-related products. Basically, anything with a picture of a Barbie on it, anything that can be used to enhance a Barbie (such as new clothes), or anything that can be used to transport a Barbie (such as a Barbie Corvette or a Barbie airplane) is popular among young girls.

Barbie games, including puzzles, board games, and computer games have been items that parents have been buying for their children for years. Girls love to play Barbie games because they are fun, creative, and of course - involve Barbie in some way, shape or form.

Barbie Desktop Computer

Throughout her existence, Mattel has sold Barbie dolls dressed as many different types of career women, but they've also made sure that Barbie is technologically advanced. In fact, the first time Barbie appeared with a computer was in 1985. Therefore, it's no surprise that the Barbie Desktop Computer is an extremely popular item for girls ages four to seven.

The Barbie Desktop Computer is not exactly a word processor, but it's more of an activity center that includes all sorts of Barbie games. The computer comes with many educational activities such as those related to spelling and vocabulary as well as math games and much more.

Barbie of Swan Lake: The Enchanted Forest

At approximately the age of five, most kids start begging to use the family computer to play games. Especially for girls, Barbie games are a huge amount of fun. The Barbie of Swan Lake: The Enchanted Forest is a game in which the player figures out how to help Barbie through an adventure in the forest. During the game, the player can choose Barbie's outfit, catch fireflies, and sprinkle pixie dust.

Barbie's Web Site

Of course, Barbie has her own website. Not only does the website provide a location to showcase all sorts of Barbie-related products (such as fashion accessories and home décor items), the website also features Barbie games that girls love to spend hours playing.

Some of the types of Barbie games on the Barbie website include decorating Barbie's bedroom and picking out various outfits for Barbie to wear. The games all focus on clothes, accessories, décor, fashion, and looking good.

Although the focus of the Barbie games available for free on the Barbie website may seem fairly superficial, girls enjoy playing them. Remember that the entire concept of the Barbie doll is centered on a doll that does not have a realistic shape or "normal" body measurements.
